Active Participant HealthFlex Well-Being Program
The HealthFlex well-being programs are available to subscribers and spouses in the medical insurance plans. HealthFlex offers a full suite of top-notch well-being programs using one portal through Personify Health. Activities earn Personify Health Cash which is delivered straight to your Personify Health account and can be deposited to your bank account or redeemed for gift cards, merchandise, or charitable donations. There’s a way for every active eligible participant to earn Personify Health Cash through the HealthFlex well-being programs regardless of their personal goals and wellness focus.

Active Participant Earning Opportunities:
- HealthFlex Standard Reward for completing Levels to achieve Virgin Pulse Points = up to $40 per quarter
- Level 1 (1,000 points) = $5
- Level 2 (5,000 points) = $15
- Level 3 (10,000 points) = $10
- Level 4 (15,000 points) = $10
- NC Conference Additional Reward for reaching Level 4 in both Q1 and Q2 = $95 credited in July
- NC Conference Additional Reward for reaching Level 4 in both Q3 and Q4 = $95 credited in January of the following year
- Achieve 150 Wellness Credits (Here’s How!)= $150
- Complete the Blueprint for Wellness biometric screening
- log in to Personify Health > click Benefits > type Quest Blueprint for Wellness in the search box > click START NOW on the Quest Blueprint for Wellness card.
- Screenings completed by August 31 = $100
- Complete the Personify Health Health Check by August 31 to avoid a higher deductible in the next plan year
Retired Participant Well-Being Program
The Retired Participant Well-Being program is open to retired clergy and their spouses and retired lay employees and their spouses of the NC Conference. Eligible participants must be members of or serving in the UMC. Retired clergy serving an appointment in the NC Conference are also eligible during the time of their service. Retirees or their spouses enrolled in the conference’s active health plan are enrolled in the active well-being plans described above.
The Retired Participant Well-Being program utilizes the Personify Health platform. There’s a way for every eligible retired participant to earn Personify Health Cash through the HealthFlex well-being programs regardless of their personal goals and wellness focus. Earn points toward cash rewards by:
- adding your pedometer device so your steps will be automatically uploaded (10 points for every 1,000 steps – max 140 points)
- adding Friends through Social Connections (5 Friends for 250 points)
- adding your Profile picture (100 points)
- completing Daily Cards (20 points per card – max 40 points per day)
- tracking Healthy Habits (10 points per habit – max 30 points per day)
- tracking your sleep through your pedometer device (20+ points per day)
- and more!
These actions take only minutes to complete each day and are easy to do either through the Personify Health mobile app on your smartphone or the Virgin Pulse desktop website. Most pedometer devices are compatible with Personify Health. A free Max Buzz device can be redeemed through your Personify Health account. Smartphones are required in order to connect pedometer devices to the Personify Health app.

The Blueprint for Wellness health screening evaluates more than 30 health factors with one blood sample and a few quick measurements. The information gained from the screening will be a valuable support in reaching your health goals. The Blueprint for Wellness must be scheduled through this number and group in order for it to be free of charge for participants.

- First Aid Training for Mental Health – recorded webinars to address the results from the 2021 Clergy Well-being Survey showing a steady decline in mental and emotional health
- The Resiliency Toolkit gives strategies for building resiliency based on Wespath’s five dimensions of well-being. Everyone goes through challenging times. But additionally, everyone can strengthen their ability to recover and adjust to misfortune or change.

Conference and Denominational Wellness
- Wellness INcentive (WIN) Program– retired participants receiving the Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) earn points for healthy living activities.
- Duke Clergy Health Initiative “Flourishing Report: A Study of United Methodist Clergy in North Carolina” – highlights a recent study on positive mental health and includes practical tips from clergy who are flourishing in their ministry and their lives. Take the Positive Mental Health Assessment to learn about your own strengths and opportunities for growth. Click the link to read the most recent published research on the Clergy Health Initiative.
- Retreat center availability – NC United Methodist Camp and Retreat Ministries offer clergy, their spouses, families, and congregations renewal, rest, and relaxation in God’s great outdoors. Inquire about personal retreat opportunities!
- The Clergy Health Institute Wellness Retreat – Held at Pfeiffer University, a 6-night retreat, which includes fitness assessments, guided exercise sessions, sessions on improving relationships, emotional wellness, enneagram, nutrition, and physical fitness, and quarterly follow-up sessions via Zoom.
