Pastors should be given a W-2 to report income received from the church. Only contractors who are not considered employees of the church should receive 1099’s if the income is $600 or more. More information is available on completing a clergy W-2 and tax reporting requirements of churches under the Training Materials tab of the Treasurer’s Office website.
