The Harbor district Lay Servant Ministries team presents Life Together in the United Methodist Connection (Polity) … revised and updated after the latest General Conference!
This 8-hour class is divided between two Sunday afternoons. Participants must attend both sessions in order to receive credit for the course.

About the Course:
Why does The United Methodist Church do things the way it does? And what does any of this have to do with trying to be a place and a people that embody the Kingdom of God? This course will help participants get their bearings and consider the specific structural challenges The United Methodist Church faces in the 21st century.

All participants are expected to read The Method of Our Mission, by Laceye C. Warner, prior to class. Participants will also need a copy of the 2016 Book of Discipline, which can be accessed online for free.

Rev. Taylor Mills is the conference parliamentarian. He is the pastor of Trinity UMC in Southport and has been in full time ministry since 2001. Abingdon Press published his book of lenten lessons in 2022 called Toward the Cross in addition to numerous Adult Bible Study student and teacher books. He has one daughter in college and one about to start college.
