Do you have a ministry idea that you would like to implement at your church? Are you feeling God’s nudge to make a deeper commitment to service within your community as a lay person?
Certified lay ministers (CLMs) are laity who have said “yes” to God’s call to intentional, long-term ministry as a lay person in the local church. Some CLMs serve as lay pastors of congregations. Most CLMs serve within their own congregation, and their ministries take many different forms—from assisting with visitation to preaching, leading small groups, running a food pantry, or creating an outreach ministry to meet needs in the community.
You do not need to have all of the answers (or even any answers!) to take this first step. The CLM candidate training program is designed to deepen your daily spiritual practices, provide the structure and accountability you need to build relationships for team discernment in your local church, and equip you with the tools and training you need to say “yes” to God’s call on your life.
If you are feeling a nudge from God to make a deeper commitment to ministry in the local church, we invite you to join us for a Day of Discovery, Saturday, June 1, 10am-3pm, at the NC Conference Building in Garner. We’ll share about the CLM Candidate Training Program and what it means to be a certified lay minister in our conference. Lunch is provided free of charge for all registrants.
