This webinar with Linda Harris took place on March 26, 2019, and was a part of our spring 2019 series on Living in Community Across Difference. Watch the recording below, or go back to our Past Webinars page to view more webinars.
About the Webinar: In this webinar, the Rev. Linda Harris invites us to journey with her to approach the issue of conflict. There are many references to conflict in the Bible, including conflict between nations, among friends, and in families. What we believe determines the way we respond to such difficulties. Each of us deals with conflict differently; some common responses include:
- sarcasm
- taking the bull by the horns
- fight or flight
- wishing it away
- jumping in, which can sometimes backfire…
Embracing conflict can be helpful in building understanding and better relationships. It can also help us manage and experience greater personal and professional success. By dealing with conflict, we recognize that the strongest part of a story is what is hidden. But with conversation, that part of the story can be revealed.
