All behavior is communication. In this behavior 101 training you will learn how people use behavior to communicate their wants and needs. You will also be introduced to behavioral analysis and learn strategies to prevent harmful behaviors from happening. Jesus used many of these strategies in his ministry and soon you can too!

About Joy Van Staalduinen

Reverend Joy Van Staalduinen is a Deacon in Full Connection in the North Carolina Conference. She has a bachelors degree in special education from East Carolina University and a Master of Divinity from Emory University. Joy has taught students with severe behavior disorders in both elementary and middle school. She has also served as a community services coordinator and trainer at the Autism Society of North Carolina. Joy has served in youth ministry for over 15 years and is passionate about including persons with disabilities in faith communities.
