Are you engaging in a Fresh Expression of church? If so, we want to know! Email cle@nccumc.org to tell us about your FX.
In late 2024, we hosted a gathering with FX United Methodist leader Michael Beck. Over 150 clergy and laity came to get a taste of Fresh Expressions and to begin imagining how one could blossom in their context.
In a continuing effort to support and nurture Fresh Expressions, we are planning a conference strategy for next steps and need your response. We know church leaders are in ministry using Fresh Expressions models, but we need to know who they are and how they are engaging people outside of the sanctuary.
The Center for Leadership Excellence and New Faith Communities are asking for your response. Let us know where you are connecting community and emerging expressions to explore faith communities that look different than a Sunday service. (Think dinner church, biking and hiking groups, coffee and conversation, etc.)
What will we do with your responses?
- We are creating a list of current and planned Fresh Expressions ministries to share what is happening around the conference. This list will serve as a source of inspiration and creativity for other pastors and churches interested in exploring Fresh Expressions. By responding with your ideas or ministries, you agree that your Fresh Expression will be shared in a follow-up email.
- In the spring, we will invite a small group of churches that are planning or have realized a Fresh Expression to further develop their ideas. This day of equipping will include pastors and church leaders guided by a Fresh Expressions expert to help find ways to grow a Fresh Expression! Though this group may not include all of our NC Fresh Expressions, we will continue to resource churches in this ministry.
Send an email to cle@nccumc.org and let us know about your Fresh Expression.
