The Center for Leadership Excellence invites you to an interactive Zoom workshop exploring congregational stories and how we can tell stories of our past to launch a new vision for the future.
Congregational stories are the hidden treasures of churches. We’ll explore how they can be mined for learning, spiritual growth, and discernment of God’s ongoing call so that churches move forward rather than linger in the past. We will share resources and hands-on tools to help unearth the power of storytelling and to encourage fruitful storytelling in a congregational setting. This participatory workshop will have opportunities for questions and information sharing.
Special Offer: In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to schedule a free, individualized follow-up conversation with Pat, who is a trained coach, as they begin to execute storytelling efforts in their own congregations.
- Limit one free coaching call per congregation
- Can be one-on-one or with a small group
- Each call will last up to 60 minutes
- Must request call within 30 days of the event

About Pat Grace:
The Rev. Canon Patricia Grace is an Episcopal priest, retreat leader, facilitator/trainer storyteller, and small group facilitator. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Bucknell University, a Masters of Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Masters of Divinity from The Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA. She is “all but thesis” in preparation for a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Congregational Development from Bexley-Seabury Seminary in Chicago, IL. Prior to being ordained in 2004, Rev. Pat worked in the public sector for a variety of human service non-profit organizations. Pat is a licensed spiritual director receiving her credentials from the Haden Institute. During her career, she has always been active as a volunteer leader for boards and vestries, assisting them to engage in mission-based strategic planning and visioning.
After seven years in parish ministry, Rev. Pat joined the staff of the Diocese of East Tennessee as its Canon to the Ordinary and Transition Minister. Out of that experience, Rev. Pat began to do interim work: first, as a part-time addition to her duties at the Diocese; and then, in 2018, Pat began full time work in interim ministry. She has served in four parishes as an interim.
Rev. Pat is a voracious reader, enjoys complicated murder mysteries, well-written fiction, and memoirs. She loves to travel, cook, watch old movies, and collect stories from around the world. She also loves all things Irish and considers Ireland her spiritual home.
