In June, we celebrated the newest certified lay ministers at Annual Conference—faithful leaders now serving across our conference as lay pastors, children’s ministers, outreach coordinators, and more. Maybe you were there as these laity publicly proclaimed their commitment to live out the gospel in the ministries where they are assigned.
Certified lay ministry is a pathway for laity ready to make a deeper, sustained commitment to leadership in the church and community. If you sense God’s call to deeper ministry as a lay person, the certified lay ministry candidate training program may be the next step for you.
The 2025–2026 certified lay ministry cohort begins September 27, and applications are due August 29.
