The United Methodist Church Disaster Response Ministry sent a team of tree trimmers to assist homeowner, Richard Gardner, in New Bern, North Carolina. Mr. Gardner was denied assistance by his insurance company due to unstable trees surrounding his home. A team of 8 experienced volunteers, led by arborist, Cullen Whitley, successfully removed the trees.

The United Methodist Disaster Response Team has helped rebuild 847 homes since Hurricane Florence and Matthew with the help of volunteers, like Cullen Whitley.
