Stories of Hope, Stories of Life, Stories of Congregations for Children
We often speak of children as being God’s precious gift to God’s world. And so they are. Many times Jesus spoke of the children in such manner. He placed them at the center of the life of God’s kingdom. At one point Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a child, welcomes me.”
We in the North Carolina Conference are seeking to provide love and support for children through our support and connection with our neighborhood schools as Congregations for Children. In this, we encourage our congregations to embrace your local school and through relationship and presence discover ways that you can help children to a healthier and full life through:
1- Helping to teach a child to read or to improve their reading skills
2- Helping a child access the basic needs for successful learning … food, clothing, supplies for school, etc.
3- Helping increase parental connections through support of students and teachers
Thus, as we seek to offer the life and hope of Jesus to children, we find the presence of Jesus anew in the life of a child.
