The Gary Wayne Locklear Mission Endowment provides resources as we partner with others for new missions with people in the geographical area of the North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church. The mission focuses on emerging needs related to health, wellness, and abundant life, economic resources for fullness of life, education, and spiritual vitality found in Jesus Christ.
In 2024, a total of $71,300 was given to six ministries and missions. The recipients are:
Trinity UMC (New Bern)
Trinity UMC has been actively involved in the Messy Church ministry within their community since 2023. They host Bible-based craft activities, worship, and community meals to provide opportunities for spiritual growth and reconnect and build relationships with their neighbors.
The Church at Spring Forest, Hope 4 Humanity
Hope 4 Humanity is an ecumenical and interfaith mission of hope, reimagining all people as the image of God and of sacred value. Partnering with other organizations and ministries, they offer advocacy events, pilgrimages to the border, and other educational offerings.
