In the summer of 2017, one of our North Carolina UMC pastors walked from Rockingham, NC, to Washington, D.C., to advocate for healthcare coverage and in support of his daughter, Lauren Faith (watch a video about him here). His story is personal, but his vision is large. How do we find ways to care for all the people of God, regardless of their resources?
Caring for Others will focus on the impact that North Carolina’s health insurance coverage gap has on the physical, emotional, and financial health of the people of our state. Those caught in the gap include frontline and healthcare workers, farmers, fishermen, church pastors, and emergency service personnel. Our presenters will focus on how people of faith can become involved in advocating for a solution here in our home state.
