About the Facilitators:

Tom Greener brings together 30 years of experience in pastoral ministry, study in spirituality, and a desire to see disciples grow in faith and devotion. He holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University in Classical Studies, a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological, a M.A. in Formative Spirituality from Duquesne University, and a DMin in Pastoral Leadership from Wesley Theological. From all those fields and all those perspectives he draws together a sense of ancient themes and modern needs. His ministry in the local church began in western Pennsylvania, where he served eight years. He joined the North Carolina Conference more than two decades ago, and has served in various urban and suburban settings. He is an avid writer, reader, golfer, cyclist, and author of the book Finding Our Way: How Ancient Practices Help Us Navigate through Stress, Anxiety, and Alienation.

Ann Davis has been a leader for our North Carolina United Methodist for many years. She has been active with St James UMC and served in a variety of roles. Currently, she serves as the Lay Leader for St James. At the conference level, Ann has been president of the United Methodist Women, a delegate to both Annual and General Conference, and serves as Co-Director of Lay Servant Ministries. Ann is a Certified Lay Minister with a concentration in Higher Education Ministry. In recent years, Ann has helped in the formation of a very active international student ministry for St James. In 2024, she was awarded the Francis Asbury Award for Campus Ministry. In 2025, she received the first Peacebuilding Award for Laity as a result of her work with International Students and the formation of a diverse congregational life.
