In partnership with the Florida Conference, NC Conference Disaster Ministries was awarded a grant from the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) Environmental Sustainability Unit to build a mobile solar power disaster response trailer. The trailer will be used by Early Response Teams (ERTs) responding in impacted communities when power is unavailable. Teams from NC Conference Disaster Ministries and the Florida Conference will meet in October to begin the trailer construction.
