About this event

Do you believe your church’s best days are behind or ahead? Whether your congregation is breaking new ground or stuck in a rut, we all have access to God’s abundance and creativity through the Holy Spirit. So, why do some leaders seem more creative and some congregations more inventive?

We believe the answer to these questions is connected with our ability to live into our creative callings as image bearers of Christ. To be able to look at the complex needs of the world with confidence, knowing that God has equipped us with the ability to find new and exciting solutions.

Incarnational Innovation, or i2, is a process that will help you think more creatively, take more risks and cultivate a culture of innovation in your faith community. Rooted in Scripture and practice, the i2 Process will teach you how to use “design thinking,” an approach to solving complex challenges, in light of the Church’s unique vocation to “incarnationally” represent God in the world.

Part of the beauty of this process is that we will discover the solutions, not prescribe them. That means that you and your team will learn how to reimagine ministries, overcome challenges, and see God at work in new ways.

What is needed from you:

• A problem or need that you are looking to solve in your ministry context. This could be the top item on your strategic planning list, a new ministry idea, a need that you see in your community or your church.
• It is encouraged to bring work through this as a team, even if it’s two people. This helps generate more ideas, see from different perspectives, and instill creativity in more parts of your ministry.

What to expect throughout the i2 process:

• Study of the theology of creativity and play
• Introduction to and practice of creativity tools, techniques, and fundamentals
• Change the way your team approaches problem solving (including how you brainstorm, communicate ideas, launch new initiatives, and more)
• Learn how to live into a process of creativity, both personally and organizationally

This i2 accelerator consists of 8 sessions, each session lasting for 2 hours from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm EST. See specific dates below.
