This course is for adult Christians who want to support teens and young adults in hearing and following their call. In only three weeks you’ll learn the latest spiritual mentoring practices to help youth and young adults on their faith journey to become mature Christians themselves.
It takes more than just casually interacting with a young person to grow their faith. Having a trusted Christian adult mentor to talk with about faith and calling — and how to follow those calls — is critical in helping young people follow their God-given passion and purpose. And when young people follow their call from God, they are more engaged, more driven, and more devoted to the ministries of the church.
Each weekday you’ll spend 30-45 minutes reflecting on and applying scriptures to encourage and engage your mentee(s).
- In Week One we’ll pray and focus on how to find mentees and space for mentoring
- In Week Two, we’ll discuss creating covenants and optimal meetings with our mentees
- In Week Three, we’ll choose and implement techniques to deepen relationships with our mentees and God
Form a mentoring relationship with a young person to produce spiritual growth, talk about calling, and participate in serving God together. Discover the rhythms of empathy and response in your mentoring.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools, resources, and support of a mentoring community to develop and sustain faithful, meaningful, and dynamic mentoring relationships with young people.
The mentoring style taught in this course is primarily intended for one-on-one relationships, but the practices and advice will work when mentoring small groups of young people, as well.
