Mysticism has been described as a longing for God that has been present in all times, cultures, and religions. Dorothee Soelle was a German theologian who dedicated her life to reinterpreting the Christian message with a unifying message of mysticism and activism. Her book “The Silent Cry” will be the departure point as this course invites you to awaken from the preset-day prison of globalization and individualization. The discussion of the book will seek to draw from Soelle’s knowledge and wisdom as well as her passion for social justice. Optional live discussions will be part of the experience.
In addition to Blackboard interactions, 1 required Zoom meeting will be held on Friday at 6:00 pm Eastern time. The meeting will not be recorded.
Learners are required to obtain the book The Silent Cry by Dorothee Soelle.
This course is eligible for 1.0 CEU.
