It’s Hard to Love Your Neighbors if You Don’t Know Them
The Center for Leadership Excellence presents a Day of Learning with Emily Reece…
August 20 @ 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
*Doors open at 9:30 am.
About the Day
How can your congregation more faithfully know and serve its neighbors? MissionInsite equips churches with powerful demographic information and insights about people’s priorities and aspirations. This data helps you understand your neighbors so that your church can support strategic, Spirit-led ministry.
In this highly interactive working session, attendees (clergy and laity are welcome) will be oriented to MissionInsite and then move beyond basics to explore advanced tools that help interpret community data. Discover practical ways to turn insight into action…strengthening mission, outreach, and evangelism while aligning local ministry with the broader connectional mission of the United Methodist Church.
Please be sure to bring a team so that learning and planning is a shared experience. Your team will spend parts of the day reflecting on the demographics and planning your outreach. When you return back to your church, reaching out to your neighbors will be a goal you can implement together!
A follow-up, hour-long online and optional Zoom session will be scheduled after the event to demonstrate use of MI and answer questions about navigating the program and running reports.

About Emily Reece

A United Methodist lay person with three decades of ministry service under her belt, Emily Reece serves as an advanced expert on MissionInsite with ACS Technologies. In this position, she draws from her experience at the local church, conference, and denominational levels to assist congregational leaders with practical strategies to connect with their communities. Having used MissionInsite in various roles since 2009, Reece enjoys “helping translate numbers into neighbors” through her work with multiple denominations but especially loves reconnecting with her United Methodist siblings in Christ.
Ready to save your seat?

MissionInsite is a program funded with North Carolina church apportionments and is available for your church to use! Each church’s pastor and one lay person can access it through the conference MissionInsite webpage. Please coordinate with your team to see who may already have access. When you arrive at the event, you will have the reports you need printed for you and your team! There is no need to log in before the event—unless you want to explore what MI has to offer.
