About the Workshop
Intro to Canva
August 5, 2026, 10-11:30am
Whether you’re a pastor creating a quick event graphic, a church administrative assistant designing a flyer, or a volunteer managing social media, Canva has become one of the most powerful and accessible communication tools available to churches.
This beginner-friendly workshop is designed for those with little or no experience with Canva and want to learn how it can strengthen their church’s communications ministry. Participants will explore the basics of Canva’s design tools while creating content commonly used in congregational life, including worship graphics, sermon series visuals, event promotions, volunteer recruitment materials, social media posts, and email graphics.
We’ll also discuss how churches can access Canva for Nonprofits at no cost, how Canva helps simplify copyright and image licensing concerns, and explore practical ways to create professional-looking communications without expensive software or graphic design experience.
Whether you’re serving a large church communications team for collaboration or wearing multiple hats in a small congregation, this workshop will provide the foundation you need to begin creating engaging, effective, and legally compliant church communications.
