  • Practice leadership through the four elements of the basic pattern;
  • Receive and offer supportive feedback on planning and leading worship;
  • Explore and practice leading worship in a variety of settings, other patterns of worship, and multiple forms of prayer.

Order Your Book!

All participants are expected to read Worshiping with United Methodists, by Hoyt L. Hickman, prior to class.

Participants will also need access to a United Methodist Hymnal and a United Methodist Book of Worship. Your church or pastor probably has a copy that you may borrow. You can also access the Book of Worship online.

For questions about the course, please contact Vicki Ambrose (vambrose@nccumc.org) or Allen Burden (aburden@nccumc.org), Corridor district co-directors of Lay Servant Ministries.
