Strengthen Your Bible Study Leadership

Whether you teach Sunday School, lead a small group, facilitate a Bible study, or simply want to engage Scripture more deeply, these two in-person courses offer opportunities to strengthen your understanding of the Bible and your ability to lead others in faithful study.
Sacred Tension: Dissonance and Dialogue in the Old Testament
June 27, 8:30am–5pm | Bethel UMC (Snow Camp)
Note: Registration closes Thursday, June 11!
The Bible is often called the “talking book” because it has a habit of talking to itself. Sacred Tension explores the diverse and sometimes contending voices within the Old Testament and invites participants into the dialogue.
Through this study, participants will examine how the Bible engages a variety of perspectives and consider how these tensions and disagreements can be understood as a strength of Scripture rather than a weakness.
Teaching Biblical Faith: Leading Small Group Bible Studies
August 22, 8:30am–5pm | Soapstone UMC (Raleigh)
This course is designed to help participants lead small groups through ten thoughtful approaches to Scripture study. The goal is scriptural wisdom that shapes both personal and congregational decision-making and cultivates a more authentic biblical faith.
Participants will learn practical strategies for leading group Bible studies, encouraging meaningful conversation, and exploring the purposes and outcomes of different approaches to studying Scripture.
