Lisa is a Deaconess serving with Hope4Humanity (H4H), a ministry striving to disrupt unjust systems while demonstrating that every person is of value and vital to the wholeness of our humanity. H4H’s foci are immigration, domestic violence, and indigenous justice.
Wil Bailey
San Isidro, Costa Rica

An SEJ/Conference missionary and president of Acts One Eight Missions, Wil is responsible for working with local pastors in southern Costa Rica and organizing construction projects at the Methodist churches in the area for U.S. work teams. He is also the director of the Costa Rica Mission Projects Missions and Ministry Center in San Isidro, where volunteer teams are housed during their stay and the site for a daycare center.
Charles Barrow

Charles is a Home Missioner whose ministry is with “Food For Hungary Neighbors,” which supplies surplus produce to the local church food pantries, soup kitchens, and the Food Bank of eastern North Carolina, much of which is gleaned by church groups. This ministry also addresses the importance of eating fresh vegetables for a healthy diet.

She works to connect local social service support systems with the ministries of the Church so that women and children, in particular, can live and learn in a thriving environment.

Melba, a Deaconess, is the founder and director of Partners in Ministry (PIM), a multifaceted ministry centered in East Laurinburg, NC, focused on breaking the cycle of poverty through youth empowerment and leadership development. PIM services also include a resource and referral center, home rehab outreach and repair, thrift store, food pantry, community garden, and GED classes.

The Director of Discipleship for Antiracism and Beloved Community will lead a transformative ministry dedicated to interesting Christian discipleship with the active pursuit of racial equity and justice. This role will operate within the general United Methodist Church, the North Carolina Conference, and ecumenically, with a particular focus on implementing and facilitating transformation workshops and local congregational ministries. Some of the work will be based on the “Healing Haunted Histories” process developed by Dr. Elaine Enns and Ched Myers. The director will work collaboratively with an advisory team to ensure the ministry’s alignment with the broader mission of The UMC and its commitment to social justice.
