According to United Nations data, “millions of women and girls worldwide still cannot afford menstrual products or access water and sanitation facilities to manage their menstrual health and hygiene. Periods make them miss school, work, and negatively impact their health.”

Calvary Memorial United Methodist Church of Snow Hill, NC, alongside members of other local churches, has been busy sewing Days for Girls menstruation kits. These kits are distributed to mission teams for the education and delivery to young girls and women in the areas these teams serve.

Over the last 10 years, Calvary Memorial UMC has made over 3,000 of these kits, sending them to different countries. In addition, Calvary Memorial UMC also serves by making birthing kits for expectant mothers.

Do you have a mission team heading out soon? Has the host of your mission site indicated that this might be a need in the areas they serve? Calvary Memorial UMC would be happy to figure out the logistics of supplying these kits to you to provide to the communities you are serving.

If you would like to find out more, please reach out to the Conference UMVIM Coordinator, Rev. Miles Baker Hunt, at umvim@nccumc.org to be connected with the team at Calvary Memorial UMC and this vital ministry.
