A Season of Giving and Serving with Project AGAPE

“It’s a most wonderful time of the year…”

Once again, MERCI in Goldsboro has received a number of Christmas boxes, which will go to the children of Armenia this year. We anticipate that 3,000 boxes will be processed and shipped to Project AGAPE in Armenia, so that children who have been displaced because of war might now experience a tangible gift of love during the season when we remember that Agape came into the world through the incarnation.

We need to inspect these boxes due to requirements from customs agents in several countries. Additionally, we want each box to contain everything that children in the designated age group will need. We are seeking volunteers in December 2025 to assist us in completing this work. Currently, over 1,000 boxes have been processed, with approximately 2,000 more to go.

MERCI will have workdays for the Christmas boxes on the following days: December 5, 6, 9, 12, 13, 15, 16, and 19. Volunteers typically work from approximately 9:00 am to 12:30 pm on those workdays. Other work days can be arranged for groups by contacting Rev. Bill Haddock at (910) 262-3831 or revbillh@nccumc.org.

Join us this December and serve joyfully as we prepare these gifts of love for children in Armenia.

A Special Opportunity to Give

If you are unable to volunteer this month, you can still support this ministry through the Special Sunday on January 4. One hundred percent of your gift goes directly to the ministry to help meet the ongoing needs of children and families in Armenia.
