By now, if you submitted a proof of claim in the Boy Scouts of America Bankruptcy Settlement, your church should have been contacted by the District Office.
We have learned that it is possible that some churches that filed a proof of claim did not receive the disclosure statement packet from the case administrators, or more importantly, did not receive a ballot. We are also getting reports of some churches throwing away the entire packet upon receipt before realizing what it was.
Please see the scenarios below for your immediate next steps:
If your church received a packet in the mail regarding the Boy Scouts of America Bankruptcy Settlement but has not been contacted by the District Office, please immediately contact Lou Jennings at ljennings@nccumc.org or (919) 779-9435 by the end of day on Tuesday, November 23.
If your church filed a proof of claim but did not receive a disclosure statement packet, please contact Omni Agent Solutions at (866) 907-2721 or restructuring@scouting.org to see if Omni can send another copy. Absent that, you will likely have to fill out a blank ballot (when the time comes to do so) and mail it in. If you cannot get an official copy of your ballot, the church will not be able to submit it online, because the official ballot contains a unique ID for each church that will be necessary in order to vote online.
If your church accidentally threw away the packet, please contact Omni Agent Solutions at (866) 907-2721 or restructuring@scouting.org to see if Omni can send another copy. Absent that, you will likely have to fill out a blank ballot (when the time comes to do so) and mail it in.
