White Allyship: What It Means to Be an Antiracist Ally (General Commission on Religion and Race)

May 17, 2023 @ 3:00 pm 4:30 pm

Becoming a white antiracist ally requires more than being a nice Christian who believes that racism is “wrong.” It requires critical thinking, a heart change, and an expansion of discipleship. Join us Wednesday, May 17, at 3 pm Eastern (2 pm Central; 12 pm Pacific) for this important virtual conversation on white allyship. (Webinar will last 60-90 minutes.)

Our panelists will be:

  • The Rev. Hannah Bonner – antiracism activist and director of the Wesley Foundation campus ministry at the University of Arizona in Tucson
  • The Rev. Dr. Drew Dyson – chief executive officer of the Princeton (N.J.) Senior Resource Center
  • The Rev. Dr. Jennifer Harvey – an educator and author of essays and books, including, Dear White Christians: For Those Still Longing for Racial Reconciliation
  • The Rev. J.P. Hong – senior pastor of the multicultural Christ Crossman United Methodist Church, Falls Church, Virginia
