The History of the Lumbee People (Wake County Public Libraries)

Join us as John Oxendine details the rich history of the Lumbee People and how they walk between the contrasting worlds of culture, government, and everyday life.
John Oxendine, a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, has worked for the Lumbee Tribe for more than 20 years. Oxendine helped establish the Culture Department for the Lumbee Tribe of NC and helped establish the annual Lumbee Tribe Powwow, now one of the largest Powwows on the east coast.
