In this workshop, we will explore the ways in which the administrative tasks of the pastor strengthen the mission of the church and are, themselves, acts of ministry in fulfillment of the pastor’s responsibility to “administer the temporal affairs of the church.” Focusing primarily on those newer to ministry and those serving congregations of smaller membership, the workshop will cover topics such as:
Preparing for Charge Conference
The role of the pastor in administration
Creating a good annual rhythm of administration
The roles and functions of a finance team
Budgeting for mission and funding priorities
Stewardship campaigns and preaching on giving
