Thursday, October 14, 2021, 9:30 a.m. Virtual Session Only. The mission of UMAMN is to advocate for Appalachia within the structure of the United Methodist Church and to empower social justice through leadership development and collaboration with ministries and organizations that serve the region.
One of the main focuses of the UMAMN is to provide education and training for ministries and local church leaders, lay and clergy, in an Appalachian context. (GCFA: Developing principled Christian leaders for the church and the world.) To provide education and awareness for advocacy on issues that impact Appalachia.
The 2021 Fall Assembly theme is Racism and Diversity. A virtual session will be led by Deaconess Garlinda Burton, General Commission of Religion and Race. Space is limited to 150 participants.
