Conversations in Christianity: Christianity and the LGBTQ Community with James Martin, S.J. (Duke University)

oin us on Wednesday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m. when Elizabeth Schrader Polczer will be in conversation with James Martin, S.J. about “Christianity and the LGBTQ Community.”

They will be discussing Fr. Martin’s book Building a Bridge: How the Catholic Church and the LGBT Community Can Enter into a Relationship of Respect, Compassion, and Sensitivity. They will also discuss various approaches to LGBTQ inclusion taken by different Christian denominations, including the Catholic, Episcopal, and Methodist traditions.

Members of the Duke and global community are warmly invited to gather with us on Zoom for this rare opportunity to converse with a direct advisor to Pope Francis on one of Christianity’s most pressing issues.

This is the final event in the four-part series, “Contemporary Conversations in Christianity,” developed and led by Elizabeth Schrader Polczer, doctoral candidate in Religious Studies at Duke and the 2022-23 Anne Firor Scott Public Scholarship Fellow.
