Join the United Women in Faith Office of Racial Justice for a special workshop led by Ms. Cheryl Poe, Executive Director of Advocating 4 Kids Inc. Ms. Poe will equip you with tools to support the Black neurodivergent K-12 students in your life as they navigate the public school system. During this workshop, Ms. Poe will: Provide a brief introduction on the history of racism and education; Review regulations, laws and standards that you can use to advocate for Black neurodivergent students, including IDEA, 504, and more; Invite you to actively consider your own role and responsibility in interrupting the school-to-prison pipeline. This webinar is particularly geared towards parents, grandparents and other caregivers looking to build their knowledge and skills as advocates for the Black neurodivergent children in their lives.
