Many Christians today are unfamiliar with the Bible and no longer view it as a means of encountering a living and active God. In a world focused on what humans can know, control, and consume, many have lost connection with the life-giving power of scripture and the world-creating God who stands behind it. This seminar will focus on the Spirit-empowered link between a revitalized reading of the Bible and preaching that bears witness to the grace, relationality, creativity, and holy otherness of God.
United Theological Seminary is excited to welcome Dr. Cheryl Bridges Johns, Distinguished Visiting Professor of Pentecostal Studies and Director of the Pentecostal House of Study, as featured presenter for the 2023 Preaching Seminar. The seminar will also feature teaching from Dr. Joni Sancken, Professor of Homiletics at United. Join us for a time of learning and inspiration.
