North Carolina Conference Historical Society Fall 2022 Meeting

The NC Conference Historical Society will hold its Fall 2022 meeting on Saturday, October 8 at the NC Conference United Methodist Building in Garner, NC, at 10:00 am.  We will adjourn for lunch.  The NC Conference Commission on Archives & History will meet at 1:00 pm and adjourn by midafternoon.

Our speaker will be Adrienne Bierney. Outreach Coordinator for the North Carolina State Archives, a division of the Department of Archives & History.  She will present a general program on preservation of documents and archives and a discussion of the State Archives, (which is available to religious organizations).  Adrienne says she would appreciate opportunities to cross-pollinate with the history committees within the NC Conference churches and organizations.

Although the staff does not include any experts on Methodist history, a brief study of their holdings show many photographs documenting church buildings statewide and several of the Methodist orphanage and gatherings of leaders in Raleigh.
