Good news for pastors trying to get continuing education and training hours in the midst of a pandemic: the Redeeming Creation Conference can now offer you Contact Training Hours!
Redeeming Creation is the first conference of its type to be offered by the NCCUMC. This online-only conference helps churches and individuals deepen their understanding of God’s expectations of us as stewards of creation. It is for clergy and laity alike, and is open to all, whether members of the NC Conference or not.
Dr. Jerusha Neal of Duke Divinity School will offer a session on preaching and teaching about creation in our churches, and Dr. Ellen Davis will lead a Bible study on Genesis 1 and 6. Jarred White and Michelle Osborne of RAFI will share with us the connection between land stewardship and racial justice, and a panel of clergy and laity will address the disconnect between faith and science.
The NC Conference is now offering four units of certified Contact Training Hours for all participants. This should fulfill continuing education requirements at most churches.
