“The earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it,
the world and those who live in it…”
- Psalm 24:1
The very first thing we know about God is that God is Creator. Genesis 1 teaches us the orderly way in which God created, making a place in the primordial chaos for life. In Genesis 2, God plants a garden, and entrusts it into human hands. The very heart of the Bible story is our relationship with God our Creator in this created world.
This September we celebrate the Season of Creation, a month long focus on where and how God is working through creation for the good of God’s children. Our theme this year is Life In an Abundant Garden.
We hope you will join us on September 1 at 7:00 for a worship service to begin this season. The service will be held at Camp Chestnut Ridge (4300 Camp Chestnut Ridge Rd, Efland, NC). Rev. Jarrod Davis will be preaching, and special music will be provided by Josh Pepper.
Can’t make it there on September 1? The service will be recorded, and the recording made available for churches and individuals to worship together starting September 5.
Don’t forget our other Season of Creation offerings, including a series of webinars, and sermon notes/outlines for leading local congregations in this celebration.
The full list of webinars being offered can be found here. All webinars are free. Make sure you register in advance for all the ones that interest you.
Lectionary-based sermon notes/outlines can be downloaded here, and non-lectionary-based can be downloaded here.
We look forward to celebrating together the good work God has called us to in this world. See you in September!
