Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
For those of you who have completed the required ethics training, thank you for your attentiveness to this important matter! No further action is required at this time.
If you have not yet completed the training, you still have time, but we encourage you to work on this at your earliest opportunity. Remember: the training must be completed by February 28, 2022.
As a reminder, during each quadrennium, the North Carolina Conference requires that every clergy (licensed, provisional, ordained, retired, interim supply) serving a church or under episcopal appointment (extension ministry) must complete ethics training. During the month of February, we will utilize the resources of Safe Gatherings by using their online Clergy Ethics Course. This is also an inaugural quadrennium in which anti-racism training becomes required for clergy.
To complete the training, visit the instruction page, where you will also find the link to access the training. When you log in, make sure that you are working on the “Clergy Ethics Course” and not any other training being offered.
Finally, the anti-racism training mentioned above will be offered in the second half of 2022 and 2023; additional details are forthcoming. We thank you for your good work in these matters and give thanks to God for opportunities to learn, grow, and go further in our discipleship together.
