Outreach Project
This year’s collection of items at Annual Conference in Greenville will center around Menstrual Hygiene Kits again. There is a dire need for these supplies. These kits are distributed at times of natural disaster when such supplies are hard to access. Kits are also distributed in communities in many countries where girls and women are not able to go to school or work because of the lack of access to these items.
Thanks to the generosity of clergy and lay across the Conference, we collected 450 completed kits and additional kit supplies at Annual Conference last year.
We are asking members of Annual Conference to bring completed Menstrual Hygiene Kits again this year to our gathering in June in Greenville. Our goal is to collect 1,000 kits to distribute locally and worldwide. Alternatively, members might bring any of the following items which will become part of the kits at a later time:
Menstrual Hygiene Kit Materials Needed:
- One one-gallon sized re-sealable bag
- Two 2 oz bottles of hand sanitizer
- Three 4-gallon bathroom trash bags
- One travel pack of wet ones
- 10 tampons (5 regular and 5 super)
- unscented
- 10 Sanitary pads (long, super, ultra thin)
- unscented
- Bath soap (3 oz bar or larger)
- No Ivory or Jergen’s soap
- Do not remove from packaging
- One pack of flushable wipes (42 count)
- unscented
- Six laundry detergent sheets or vending machine sized detergent boxes
- Laundry detergent sheets should be placed inside of a small plastic storage bag prior to being added to the kit
