During the pandemic, the Office of Race Equity and Justice Ministries and the Communications Committee worked with Zoom to offer business licenses to pastors and churches at a discounted rate. Zoom became a powerful tool to help us communicate with our churches and members in a time of separation and creativity.
As we move into 2023 and a shift toward more in-person gatherings, we are discontinuing this program.
Pastor and church licenses will be unlinked from the NC Conference account by the end of business on May 15, 2023. After May 15, your license will still be active, but it will become a free account, and add-ons will be disabled. Free licenses have a 40-minute time limit and a max of 100 participants per meeting.
Your current and upcoming meeting IDs and links will still work after your license is unlinked. If you have recordings saved in the cloud, please save the files locally before your account is unlinked. If you need to share files in cloud storage with others, we recommend transitioning those to a service like Vimeo or YouTube.
Below are options if you want to continue using a paid Zoom license. Alternatively, Google Meet is a free option with similar features for those with Conference email accounts or Google accounts.
- Discounted rate through TechSoup
- Discounted rate through United Methodist Communications
