When: July 22-27, 2019
Where: Methodist University
Grades: Completed 9-12
Theme: “Life in Paradise”
When we pray the Lord’s Prayer we say “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. “
As a people of God we are called to be kingdom builders, creating paradise here on Earth. Living the life of a Christian we set our hearts on our eternal home but we are called to build that paradise among us and invite others into fellowship with Christ and all people.
Annual Conference Session for youth (ACS) is a week for high school youth to make important decisions through legislative affairs and grow closer to God through interest groups, worship and growth groups. Every night we have an activity planned such as an ice cream social, a dance, a talent show and Friday night communion service. In Legislative Affairs, youth present resolutions they have written on issues for which they are passionate.
The youth of ACS vote on the resolutions and if they pass, copies of those resolutions are sent to businesses, organizations, clergy, government leaders, etc. During this week, Conference youth vote on officers who will represent the youth on various conference committees. Also representatives are named for the Conference Youth Committee, Conference Council on Youth Ministries, Resolutions Committee, Communications Committee and the YSF Task Force.
This week is a time for youth to make a difference. We have a job to do in the United Methodist Church. ACS challenges us to deepen our faith and the role of the Church in the world today. “Thy Kingdom Come.”
ALL churches are encouraged to send at least one delegate. Schedule your check up today!
