If you are interested in being a part of Conference Youth Ministry leadership, the first step is filling out the CYC (Conference Youth Committee) Leadership Application. When filling out the application, you have a couple of options:
- You can apply to be nominated for one of the 11 positions we will hold elections for at Kaleidoscope and Breakaway:
- 5 officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Legislative Affairs Person). Please note that the 5 officer positions are for senior-high students only.
- 2 Freshman Representatives
- 4 Junior High Representatives (2 elected at Kaleidoscope, 2 elected at Breakaway)
- Or, you can apply to be selected as a member of the Conference Youth Committee. There are 8 District Representatives and 3 Members-At-Large that will be selected.
Important Deadlines
- If you are a middle school student applying to run for a Junior High Representative position at Kaleidoscope, the application deadline (including your recommendation) is Tuesday, April 9 at noon.
- If you are applying to run for office at Breakaway or for a position on CYC, the application deadline (including your recommendation) is Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at noon.
Retreats and Meetings for 2024-2025
- CYC Retreat 2025 – August 8-10, 2025
- CCYM Meeting – September 20, 2025
- CCYM Meeting – January 24, 2025
- Annual Conference 2026
If you are planning to run for an elected position (see the list above), you must be in attendance at Breakaway (or Kaleidoscope for 2 of the Junior High Representative positions). If you are thinking about serving as a CYC District Representative or Member-at-Large, you are not required to attend.
If you are nominated to run for one of the elected positions listed above, you will be asked to give a speech at Breakaway (or Kaleidoscope for 2 of the Junior High Representative positions). Speeches are an opportunity to give your peers a chance to hear your voice as they consider who their elected leaders will be. We will share more information about the speeches at the events.
The remainder of the CYC is made up of 8 District Representatives and 3 Members-at-Large, selected by the elected leadership. In order to ensure equal representation, the CYC may also select Designated Observers.
Please make sure that you fill out this application accurately and completely. The Nominations Committee will review all the applications received and prepare a slate of nominees for the elected positions. Once the elections are completed, the newly elected officers will select the remaining members of the Conference Youth Committee.
