NC Conference Pilgrimage Youth Event Returns to Rocky Mount Event Center

Posted on

Rocky Mount, NC — The North Carolina Conference of The United Methodist Church will host its annual Pilgrimage event this weekend at the Rocky Mount Event Center, continuing a partnership that began in 2021. Pilgrimage has been a foundational gathering for youth and adult leaders for over 30 years, providing an opportunity for worship, testimony, music, and spiritual growth. This year, over 1,200 youth and adult leaders from across eastern North Carolina are registered to attend.

“We are so excited to continue our partnership with the Rocky Mount Event Center to gather youth groups to worship together! The event center provides a space for youth to connect and worship in a centralized area, and the staff are truly extraordinary. We can’t thank them enough for their hospitality,” said Lydia Cauley, Pilgrimage Planning Coordinator.

Throughout the weekend, youth in grades 6–12 will participate in large-group worship, hear messages of hope and encouragement, and share stories of faith. Pilgrimage is planned and led in collaboration with youth and ministry leaders from churches across the Conference, creating a space where young people can connect, explore their faith, and experience the presence of God in a supportive and joyful environment.

Conference Youth President Matthew Wong said, “Pilgrimage is more than just an event; it’s an experience. One where youth can feel welcome, learn about God, and engage in worship in a way that is tailored toward today’s youth. It’s a truly powerful thing, and I hope as many youth as possible get to experience what it is.”
