NC Conference
- The postponed 2020 General Conference was held April 23-May 3 in Charlotte, NC. Visit our GC page for updates, resources, and video recaps.
- The May Monthly Resources Flyer focused on Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month. View the flyer.
- Bishop Shelton celebrated 2024 graduates and shared an opportunity for a scholarship from the Board of Higher Education and Campus Ministry. Watch the video.

Center for Leadership Excellence
- Hosted “Embracing the Unexpected: Facing the Unknown with Grace and Humor” with MaryAnn McKibben Dana on May 21.
- Hosted a webinar, “Preparing for Racialized Storms,” with Rev. Dr. Harold Dorrell Briscoe.
District Office
- Clergy moving forms and resources were released.
Laity Ministries
- Registration for summer quarter Lay Servant Ministries classes opened. Check out the courses.
- 150 laity participated in classes over the past year. Help us plan the next year, by completing a short survey.
Media Center
- View resources written by Asian and Pacific American authors.

New Faith Communities
- New Faith Communities partnered with the Ormond Center at Duke Divinity School for a Common Learning Day.
Office of Clergy Life
- The Office of Clergy Life recently held its annual Licensing School, equipping candidates for ministry for their first appointment as a Licensed Local Pastor. While participants utilized online learning modules throughout the month of May, they additionally gathered in person at St. James UMC in Greenville, NC. The Conference will celebrate this group of new Licensed Local Pastors at the Annual Conference on June 15 during the Ordering of Ministry Service.
Outreach Ministry
- Registration opened for Caring for God’s Creation: Peacebuilding Through Holy Conversations.
- The 2024 Key Taylor Award application opened.
- The Conference Health Team shared health opportunities that will be at Annual Conference 2024.
- Creation Care Ministries hosted trainings in the Beacon, Corridor, Heritage, and Sound Districts.
- NC Conference UMVIM shares updates, stories, and information about the ministry over the past year.
Treasurer’s Office
- Conference health plan participants registered for Blueprint for Wellness Screening at Annual Conference.
- Wespath hosted an insurance webinar on a recommendation being proposed at Annual Conference regarding participant premiums on the active health insurance plan.
