As pastors and church leaders continue to navigate the challenges surrounding safe and healthy ways to gather congregations for worship and other opportunities, we would like to make you aware of some of the resources we have available.
COVID-19 Scenarios and Our Congregations
This new document contains helpful guidelines for setting up a COVID Response Team and a COVID Communications Policy. It also outlines some possible scenarios and “what ifs” (confirmed COVID case, cluster outbreak, staff COVID case) and suggestions for responding with your team. The guidelines and timelines for testing and quarantine requirements have been sourced primarily from the CDC and the NCDHHS. This document is meant to guide you and is not a substitute for medical, legal, or insurance advice.
In-Person Community and Worship
(Formerly: Model for Renewing Face-to-Face Worship)
Developed by a team of clergy representing small, medium, and large churches in conjunction with an epidemiologist and members of Conference staff, this document contains information on best practices for gatherings of all sizes and helpful information and links to guidance from the CDC. This can be a useful resource as you work with leadership in your congregations to make decisions concerning gatherings.
Other Resources
These and other resources are available on the Coronavirus Resource Page. The NC Conference staff is keeping this page updated with information to help you and your churches make the informed decisions as you gather in your congregations and minister in your communities. We encourage you to share this page with your leadership teams and your congregation.
