“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments.” – Deuteronomy 7:9
It is through our faithful God and devotion to Him, that I am a faithful servant called out of darkness to a marvelous light. I belong to Him. He has chosen me to be in His kingdom. The Holy Spirit helps me to be faithful in the study of scripture, my prayer life, loving myself and others, living a Christian life, witnessing to others about Jesus, and denying self. I am not perfect, I make mistakes and falter, but God’s presence is there to move me forward.
God’s faithfulness and love provided a way for us to be faithful in our walk with Him through the Holy Spirit. When we devote our lives to Christ we are in discipleship for Him. Our life becomes more meaningful. As an experience of this, a Christian friend visiting my home asked me to pray one on one with him for his daughter’s cancer sickness. I felt so humbled that his faith in me, as a believer to pray for this circumstance. I was blessed with the joy of the Lord.
We that are in discipleship for Christ are commanded to pray without ceasing. We are called to be faithful in our lives, walk together with others, reach out to those who have no knowledge of Christ, or those struggling with trials in their life. We can only do this by knowing Christ ourselves, loving Him, and being obedient to His commandments.
I thank God that in His wisdom to human minds, we were able to connect in discipleship through digital media when we had to shelter in place. The goodness of God will never be defeated in this world. It’s all about Jesus, who has called us to love him, love each other, and follow Him.
Our Father, we ask that You lead us to grow more into discipleship for Christ. Amen.
