Since I was a little girl, I’ve never been able to keep a plant alive, let alone a garden! A couple of years ago, my daughter brought a gift to me from school. It was this little and fragile flower planted in a plastic cup. I knew I had to pay extra attention to this precious gift I received. I started to care for the flower. I watered it on time and looked for sunny places. I managed to keep the flower alive during the winter, and as time passed, it not only didn’t die, but it started to grow healthier and stronger! Over time, it started to grow stems and more flowers started to bloom. It needed to be repotted and, over time, transplanted to a garden to keep growing and blooming.
As Christians, we need to self-examine to recognize when we are thirsty and trust that God is the gardener who provides everything we need to become a well-watered garden and keep growing spiritually.
Prayer
Beloved Jesus, as we prepare our hearts to celebrate Easter, let me be available to receive your Holy Spirit in my life. Amen.
