In this 2021 Lenten season, we know change has occurred due to the global virus causing us to do things differently. I reflect on the visual display stories of Jesus crucifixion we do at church. The excitement would mount to Resurrection Sunday when the congregation sang praises while adding flowers to a cross. This circumstance of change has cancelled those special moments, but in reality God’s presence is within us.
The emotions in this change, of not gathering have prompted me to pray, learn and listen to God’s voice to guide my heart and mind. God is working in all things for our good. Our relationship with the Lord will guide us to hope and strength, as over-comers. When in this darkness, His light shines with blessed assurance to satisfy our needs and walk in the Holy Spirit.
Even in the circumstance of change, let us focus on what can change within our hearts. Listen to Jesus’ call to repentance of grace, mercy, and justice. Invite Him to instruct us to make a change. Are you willing to give up or add to your life in this season of change? God provides the sacrificial living water afresh to us and it never fails. He continually watches over us with His loving eyes and teaches us to follow Him.
Prayer
Our Father, we thank and praise you in this circumstance of change. Father, we ask for help to follow your way. We humble ourselves before you for transformation to honor you. Strengthen us, O God, with the Holy Spirit as disciples for the gospel. We ask for comfort and peace for all your children. Amen
