    The Capital district is pleased to offer this course, which is open to all laity. It’s a great opportunity to explore the many ways laypersons can live out their call to ministry in the United Methodist Church. This course is also a required step for anyone pursuing certification as a lay servant, lay speaker, or lay minister. Note that it takes place on Monday evenings for 90 minutes sessions for six weeks. You must attend all sessions to receive course credit!

It’s a movement to make our churches safe places for children, youth, vulnerable adults, and the people who minister with them. This training will give you the theological grounding, practical tools, and hands-on experience to help your congregation not only have a policy but also make it central to the life of the church.
