When Grief is Transformative

How do we integrate great losses into our bigger story? Into God’s bigger story? Grief ad loss are the “stuff of life,” especially in these post-pandemic and chaotic days. How do you offer comfort and caring to those who have experienced a significant loss in their life? How do you meet people where they are while also offering hope? How do you know when to refer someone to another professional, i.e. a counselor, therapist, or spiritual director? In this workshop Khris Ford will present a framework for understanding the process of grief, what is often needed in the various movements within the process, as well as the basics of trauma and how to recognize it as you listen and observe someone who comes to you for help. We will talk about how to integrate spirituality and faith in a grief and trauma sensitive way. There will be time to listen, ask questions, and discuss concepts in a small group.
