St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Part-Time Facilities Manager to work closely with our Office Manager, Board of Trustees, and church staff to oversee maintenance of the church campus and facility. Anticipated work schedule is up to or approximately 15 hours per week during regular business hours, though some nights and weekends may be needed on occasion. This individual will oversee regular HVAC, plumbing, electrical, exterior maintenance, and landscape care, perform minor repairs, coordinate and manage facility improvements and maintenance projects, and oversee custodial work.
Areas of responsibility:
• Work closely with custodian to ensure all janitorial duties are complete.
• Oversee and/or perform minor repairs (leaking faucets, clogged toilets, burned out light bulbs, etc.).
• Work closely with Office Manager to provide set-up and break-down services (set up, arrange, remove tables and chairs and other items needed) for events taking place on campus and to prepare for special events and projects.
• Ensure the proper operation of all environment systems (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Elevators, etc.), and the development of maintenance contracts.
• Inspect the campus weekly to check for needed repairs or attention.
• Have the ability to communicate with and oversee work from outside service providers, if necessary.
• Ensure policies and procedures for use of facilities are followed, as set by the Trustees and other committees.
• Attend monthly Trustees meetings and report to the Trustees on budget updates, work needed, work in progress, work completed, and any additional information needed.
• Work with the Financial Administrator on all vendor accounts payable.
• Consult with contractors and obtain bids for major repairs and improvements.
• Oversee and evaluate contractor performance.
• Ensure monthly/quarterly/annual inspections of systems (Fire inspection, Hood Suppression Systems, Elevator, etc.) are complete and reported to The Compliance Engine by the appropriate vendor.
• Must be able to perform all essential duties requiring manual labor including but not limited to bending, stooping, walking, carrying, reaching, climbing, lifting, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
